Samoan Fire Knives are implements that resemble a hooked blade with wicks on both end. The wicked material is soaked in liquid fuel and lit on fire as part of cultural or ceremonial dances. Historically, the blades were made out of machete's which were twirled and tossed around the body either as a single knife or in pairs. The Samoan "Ailao" or knife dance was a pre-war ritual that displayed skill and bravery. Fire Knife is still taught today, and competitions are held annually in Hawaii, California and Samoa.
Our Fire Knives are made from carbon steel that has been heat treated to a temper finish to increase flexibility and resist bending. Each blade is attached with hardened steel roll pins to an 1" aluminum tubing shaft to ensure stability.

Quality made product
My husband's family has been in the Polynesian entertainment business since the 1950s. He has performed the fire dance since he was 10 and our sons continue now. We are on a very small island in the Pacific with limited resources and have always had to construct all of our fire implements. Trick concepts constructs high quality products that handle our daily fire performances. -The only drawback for us, it the rubber grip. It melts quite quickly, we have had to regrip with other materials.

Awesome, but...
My first issue is the price. Ive ordered a few of these from you folks. But I noticed that the price has sky-rocketed compared to a few yeas ago. Supply and demand? 2nd, the placement of the screws of the non blade side. It prevents placement on the feet while on the ground. I suggest off setting both sets of screws by 90 degrees. This will allow performers the space they need without getting branded by screws. Other than that, awesome product! I have one from 2012 and she's still kicking.
