Fans can be optionally purchased with the powder coat sanded off the inside of the spin ring, polished and waxed. This is preferred by many tech spinners because the slicker surface reduces drag. However, this does not look as good and can rust if it gets wet and will need to be rebuffed. A buffing pad is included with these grips. 

A Fire Fan is a device or prop, typically shaped like a segment of a circle, that is held in the hand and waved or spun creating an eye-catching spectacle of movement. Fire Fans are typically made of metal and have Kevlar wicks attached to each spoke. Each wick is soaked in liquid fuel and lit on fire as a performance art form. The origins of the fan dance are rooted in the Han Dynasty, which dates to around 200 AD. The Han Dynasty was the first to value and preserve the arts, which is probably why fan dancing endures today.
