The art form that has taken the world by storm!  Poi, a form of juggling with balls on chains that are twirled in various circular motions, has been practiced by the Maori people of New Zealand for thousands of years to increase strength and dexterity. We have tried many types of fire poi, but keep coming back to the cathedral wicks for their durability, longer burn time, and bigger flames. We use only high quality stainless steel washers, nuts and quick links for maximum durability. Our ball chain is industrial grade #15 (5/16") stainless steel rated to 125 lbs., not the cheap stuff found at hardware stores that is prone to breakage. We find ball chain to be the easiest to use with the least amount of tangling. We guarantee all our hardware for one year from date of purchase.

We also offer double and triple headed poi. As your skill increases, so can wick size and number of wicks. Keep in mind that the shorter your poi is, the closer the fire is going to be to your hands. For that reason, we recommend the double and triple wick poi be used with longer ball chain.

Our wicks come with Kevlar wrapped and sewn bottoms so there’s no exposed metal hardware to worry about. We stitch our poi through the surface of the wick, not the edge where the thread can hit the ground and break.

We have replaced the usual eye bolts by welding quick links directly on to a stainless steel rod that holds the poi together. We then weld the bottom to help ensure that your inner hardware never comes loose. By welding these pieces in place, we provide added strength and decrease the number of moving parts that need to be periodically tightened.

We offer three different types of grip handles: a single-loop cinching Kevlar handle, a double-loop non-cinching Kevlar handle, and wooden ball handles (see photo). Our Kevlar handles are made from 100% pure Kevlar, which is very strong, yet incredibly soft. This material contains no fiberglass, which can be hard on the hands and is not as durable or flexible. Unlike nylon handles, Kevlar will not melt. Most beginners prefer the single-loop handles because it offers the best control and security when used as a cinching grip (see link below for instructions). The ball grips are for experienced users who want to release and catch their poi during routines.
