Flexible Spine Wicks: Our hoops spines are specifically designed to flex when they hit the ground to prevent breakage. A special blend of polyurethane rubber is molded into a stem which is securely attached to stainless steel rods and Kevlar wicks, acting as a base. While flexible, these polyurethane stems are rigid enough to prevent the wicks from wobbling and will hold the weight of the hoop standing. The polyurethane also acts as a lock when tightened against the hoop to reduce the likelihood of wicks coming loose during use. The polyurethane absorbs wick wobble instead of amplifying it like a spring spines are prone to do. Simply unscrew the spine wicks to detach for easy transport, transforming your fire hoop into a practice hoop! If you are making your own hoops, or replacing spines from another hoop, our spines have 5/16" - 18 threads and the threads stick out about 3/4". We supply these spines to a few manufacturers of fire hoops, so if you are looking to replace some you have, and they look similar, they should be a match.
