The Trick Concepts fire contact juggling ball has a 4 inch hardwood core. The ball is covered with a layer of aluminum and then a Pre-Ox wick.  This layer of Pre-Ox is a very absorbent and heat resistant to provide you a several minute burn. While this ball does not have any fewer restrictions, it is recommended that 70% isopropyl alcohol be used to achieve the lowest possible flame temperature. Some experienced performers have demonstrated the ability to use this contact juggling ball without gloves. Extreme care should be practiced when using this prop. We recommend using a spin out can to remove any extra fuel from the wick before lighting it. Trick Concepts offers Nomex gloves to help deal with the heat that this ball puts off. 

The wick is held on both ends by a wooden peg. There is no metal hardware to burn yourself on.
